HPMS Lower School Indian Dance Class

Bollywood I students work on building on the basics, bettering concentration, and mastering more intricate rhythms and moves. Bi weekly Practice Videos will be provided for students to rehearse at home. All students will be given an opportunity to perform in SDA’s Winter Showcase. (Costume fees included, Showcase tickets are not included)

Class Highlights:

• Enhanced Technique: Refine your basic stances and movements while learning new, foundational Bollywood techniques.

• Expressive Movement: Explore dynamic and expressive dance styles unique to Bollywood, adding flair and personality to routines.

• Coordination and Flexibility: Improve hand-eye coordination and flexibility through targeted exercises and dance drills.

• Level I Choreography: Build on basic choreography skills with more complex routines, integrating new steps and sequences.

• Performance Skills: Develop confidence and stage presence as we prepare to showcase your skills at our showcase.

• Choreography Memorization: Memorize and recall dance routines using easy-to-follow word cues

HPMS Upper School Indian Dance Class

Bollywood II course is designed for those students who have mastered the basics, build on your existing knowledge, explore more complex choreography, and refine your performance techniques.

• Level II Choreography: Delve into semi complex routines that integrate formations and transitions, pushing skills to the next level. Choreography must be memorized for performances.

• Technical Precision: Enhance your technique with detailed instruction on advanced movements, including semi-complex legwork, spatial movement, and turns.

• Improved Posture and Stance: Focus on refining your posture and stance to achieve greater control and elegance in your dance.

• Rhythmic Complexity: Master challenging rhythms and syncopations, improving your ability to interpret and execute diverse musical styles.

• Seamless Transitions: Master the art of smooth transitions between positions within your routines to create fluid and cohesive performances.

• Rhythmic Mastery: Tackle complex rhythms and syncopations, further refining your ability to interpret and execute diverse musical styles with finesse.
