Shehnaaz Dance Academy (SDA) brings the joy of Indian dance to Frank R Conwell (PS3) Elementary School through engaging, high-quality classes in classical, Bollywood, folk, and fusion styles. Our programs blend cultural education with skill-building, creativity, and performance opportunities. We inspire confidence, discipline, and a deep appreciation for the arts in every student we teach. Our semester culminates in our themed and costumed Winter Showcase 2026 which affords students an opportunity to showcase their hard work and progress over the semester.

PS3 Bollywood Class

Our PS 3 Bollywood II course this semester is geared towards Bollywood and Indian Classical choreographies. Class Highlights:

  • Level II Choreography: Delve into semi complex routines that integrate formations and transitions, pushing skills to the next level. Choreography must be memorized for performances.

  • Technical Precision: Enhance your technique with detailed instruction on advanced movements, including semi-complex legwork, spatial movement, and turns.

  • Improved Posture and Stance: Focus on refining your posture and stance to achieve greater control and elegance in your dance.

  • Rhythmic Complexity: Master challenging rhythms and syncopations, improving your ability to interpret and execute diverse musical styles.

  • Seamless Transitions: Master the art of smooth transitions between positions within your routines to create fluid and cohesive performances.
