HCS Indian Immersion After School Class

Dates- December 9- March 17 (No class 12/16, 12/23, 12/30, 1/20, 2/17)
Time- 3:00pm - 4:30pm
Ages- Kindergarten+

Our SDA Bollywood class will focus on

• learning basic stance, postures and spatial positioning

• concentration and working as part of a team

• musical cues/beats and timing their moves with respect to the beat

• developing hand - leg coordination and awareness of their movements and transitions between moves. 

• learning one 1- 1.5 minute choreography

• being confident and expressing themselves on stage thorugh music and dance

Indian History through Art & Dance- Dance & Cultural Exploration

SDA x Buzy Bugs Winter 2025 Semester @ HCS Welcome to our Vibrant India Cultural Class, where kids will embark on a fascinating journey through rich Indian Mythological stories using dance & art as engaging mediums. Participants will explore epic tales from the Ramayana and Mahabharata and use these stories as inspiration for creating symbolic acrylic paintings, pottery decorations, and mixed media inspired by Indian folk art traditions. The dance segment will focus on semi classical and bollywood dance styles to depict storytelling. Semi classical dances are known for their graceful movements, intricate footwork, and facial expression. Our experienced instructors will guide students through the story line with hand gestures, body movements to create a skit style choreography, helping them develop knowledge and appreciation for India's mythology stories. Our students will be given an opportunity to display their craftsmanship and perform the choreography taught to them at SDA's Spring Showcase 2025.

• All supplies will be provided for the BuzyBugs Cultural Exploration Class.
