Folk Fusion: An Indian Journey of Art & Movement
Indian folk art and dance are more than creative expression—they’re vibrant reflections of history, culture, and community. Through this hands-on program, children will embark on a colorful journey exploring India’s rich artistic and movement traditions.
Folk & Tribal Art Exploration- Students will dive into timeless Indian art forms such as Warli, Madhubani, Gond, and more. Using materials like clay, fabric, canvas, and natural dyes, they’ll create unique projects inspired by traditional techniques—each deeply rooted in storytelling, symbolism, and nature. These sessions build creativity, patience, and a deep appreciation for India’s artistic heritage.
BollyFolk Dance- In partnership with Shehnaaz Dance Academy (SDA), students will learn a fusion of energetic Bollywood choreography and traditional Indian folk dances like Bhangra, Garba, Lavani, and others. Classes will focus on building coordination, rhythm, and confidence, all while having tons of fun.
Final Showcase- The program will culminate in a 2.5-minute group performance at the Winter 2026 Showcase (tentatively scheduled for January 17, 2026). Students will be given the opportunity to shine on stage, sharing their cultural journey through art and movement with family, friends and their community.
