J Spenser Smith Elementary Afterschool Program
Shehnaaz Dance Academy (SDA) brings the joy of Indian dance to J Spenser Smith Elementary through engaging, high-quality classes in classical, Bollywood, folk, and fusion styles. Our programs blend cultural education with skill-building, creativity, and performance opportunities. We inspire confidence, discipline, and a deep appreciation for the arts in every student we teach. Our semester culminates in our themed and costumed Winter Showcase 2026 which affords students an opportunity to showcase their hard work and progress over the semester.

Semester Fees does not include the cost the costume and ticketing fees for events.
SDA SPRING SHOWCASE 2025
Bollywood II Level
Ages- 5.5 - 7 years
Our SDA Bollywood class will focus on
learning basic stance, postures and spatial positioning
concentration and working as part of a team
musical cues/beats and timing their moves with respect to the beat
developing hand - leg coordination and awareness of their movements and transitions between moves.
learning one 2- 2.5 minute choreography
being confident and expressing themselves on stage through music and dance
Our semester culminates in our Winter Showcase 2026 (tentatively scheduled for Jan 17th, 2026) but is not mandatory for Smith School students.
