PAW Summer 2017 Sessions

Our first summer classes at Performing Arts Workshop started on June 9th, 2017. With Indian Independence Day celebration on August 12th, 2017, we focused our choreographies on patriotic songs.

Our younger students (3-4 years) had fun in class; they are learning the proper holding technique for Dandiya Sticks and practiced moves to our new track 'Des Rangila'. We are so proud to see how far our little ones have come in terms of discipline, concentration and coordination.

Our older students (5+ years) learnt the basics of Bharatnatyam and how to incorporate the classical style of dance to our song pick for this summer 'Jai Ho'. We had an all girls class this round and I was extremely impressed with how much we could achieve with them in our summer sessions sessions. Our students are gearing up to perform this Classical fusion piece on the Indian Independence Day event on August 12th, 2017 at the Exchange Place Pier. The girls have been working very hard on their routines and are having a great time practicing their Dandiya Skills. They are all ready for Navratri season this fall as you will be able to see in the video below.

Make sure to come watch us at the Indian Independence Day Event on Aug 12th. Details will be posted on our events page in the upcoming weeks.
